Surely making the claim he could survive on £53 a week is a Stunt.

The man’s clearly still a Liar.

IDS had 2 bouts of unemployment in 1980’s first in 1981 for 7 mths & the second bout was in 1988 I might say that the cost of living was cheaper then the minimum wages was less & benefit payment were lower than they are now so he lives in a dream world? time for him put his foot deeper in to mouth?

    1. there was no minimum wage in 1980’s
    2. read this this morning and whilst the action of the petition is novel it is not going to go any where. IDS via Dominic Raab MP is already formally complaining to the BBC about it. The beeb have nothing to worry about but the way the tory press have ganged up against Dom Aversano indicates the ‘power’ the tories have – destory the mesenger and carry on as if nothing happened. Meanwhile the labour party do nothing

Iain Duncan Smith married a millionairess in 1982 and lives on an estate owned by his father-in-law, so what would he have known about poverty? (His wife is Elizabeth “Betsy” Fremantle, daughter of the 5th Baron Cottesloe.) Was it a whirlwind courtship or would he have been courting her in 1981??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iain_Duncan_Smith

I think IDS mangled his words. I think when he said “It’s a stunt” he meant to say “I’m a cunt”

This petition is now rapidly approaching 400,000 signatories, or four times the number of signatures needed to get an e-petition on the Government’s web-site discussed in Parliament. If IDS doesn’t accept the challenge, lets put the same petition on the Government site and extend it to require him to resign if he doesn’t take up the challenge, and to resign if he fails it.

Most groups of people get covered by an acronym of some sort:
NIMBY for not in my back yard
WAGs for football players wives and girlfriends
and so on. Thinking about this……

Traditionally Tories have been from the landed and titled gentry, but now we get more and more of the likes of IDS who don’t have a title, so I would like to suggest that we adopt one of the acronyms below for these people.

Tories Without A Title or TWATs.

Conservatives Using No Title or CUNTs.

    For those employed by Atos:

Foreigners Organising Repeat Examinations Steadily Killing Innocent Non-workers or FORESKINs

I like your latter definition Dave cos Atos are a bunch of knobs or perhaps that should be French letters.

The latest news is that Rob Wilson MP intending to direct tweet followers to a site with a story about this got issued with a tinyurl by Conservative Campaign HQ that actually led to a porn site.

I can imagine how this happened as the following misunderstanding conversation:

Tory worker 1 to Tory worker 2 “Rob Wilson wants a tinyurl to link his tweet to the story about the cunt, so can you send him one?”

Tory worker 2 “Done and sent”
