A disability charity boss has resisted calls to resign from a committee that advises the government on its controversial “fitness for work” assessment, even though GPs have demanded that the test be scrapped.

Simon Gillespie, chief executive of the MS Society, was appointed last month to the scrutiny group that is overseeing Professor Malcolm Harrington’s continuing review of the work capability assessment (WCA).

  1. Problem being that they do not listen and sitting on their damn panel only gives them the right to say their actions are supported by the disabled community when they are NOT !

  2. Its that bloody prestige and promises and position. sodding personal ego and greed again. Like some Jews were still advisers to the Nazi govt throughout and quite high officials.

    Its an attention seeking deficient disorder problem of most people who get the limelight then don’t want to let go.

Stop the unfair and cruel re-assessments via ATOS for disabled people currently on Incapacity Benefit. ESA is a flawed benefit, and puts terrible pressure and stress on vulnerable people, putting people who cannot work on lesser benefits and applying sanctions. Let disabled people decide for themselves if they can work, they and their carers know best.
