Sub-Fuhrer Grayling

The move comes after the Government’s initial drive to make those on long-term sickness benefits get back into paid jobs – after being deemed fit for work – failed to push enough claimants through the new Work Programme, partly because the long-term jobless were classed as “sicker than expected”.

The man behind the Government’s back-to-work scheme told The Sunday Telegraph he would redesign the scheme so that those deemed originally too ill to join it would be made to do so.

The move, which could affect tens of thousands of benefits claimants, has already raised concerns among health experts and unions, who warn that forcing long-term claimants with a history of illness to prepare for work too early could harm their recovery.

However, the minister said Work Programme contractors were crying out for more “hard-to-help” benefits claimants, arguing that they are capable of helping more people with complex issues back to work quicker.

Official figures in May showed only 40,000 people on so-called Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) were pushed towards the Work Programme in its first six months. This is about 30,000 fewer than expected.

  1. Proof that Grayling is an absolute physcopath, and could prove to be the biggest in British History, he may do it from behind a desk, but his actions are that of a fascist despot, and also a coward of the worst kind. May he rot for eternity.

  2. What a wheeze it’ll be for anyone twp enough to employ me. What an asset I will be for the half an hour 2 times a week I might be strong enough to be able to make it into work. Real Board material. Incurable illness- mmm won’t that be a hottie for my CV!

C’mon IDS give me a job! I’m smarter and more highly qualified than you are. Just too ill to work- but as you will cure me – hey, who cares!

  3. Maybe he’ll get sick one day and end up toiling on his own work scheme. I doubt anyone would want to employ me unless they were trying to get me to launder money.

  4. “However, the minister said Work Programme contractors were crying out for more “hard-to-help” benefits claimants, arguing that they are capable of helping more people with complex issues back to work quicker.” Is he for real? Can anyone name ONE employer who is crying out to hire the sick, the disabled and the dying?

  5. Grayling has always claimed that the Atos assessments were only there to weed out scroungers and fakes, and that the genuinely ill would be given the support they need.

Now he says that those already found to be genuinely too ill to work will not receive the help they need, but will instead be made to join the back to work group.

I always thought that he was a liar, now I have published proof.

At least when the Nazis tried to get rid of the sick and disabled they had the decency to pay for the transport and gas; Grayling seems to be trying to push us into committing suicide at our own expense.

  6. Precisely. That is also what put’s them in the category of psychopaths. The evidence is clear but I don’t see anyone trying to give them medication.

  7. I have to keep reading this article to check it’s real 🙁 How can someone who has been declared ‘not fit for work related activity’ be forced to undergo ‘work related activity’? Surely a high court review or something can block this insanity?!

  8. Just sent the below to my MP. The answers to my questions at the end could be interesting as he is a new Tory MP who has followed the party line very, very closely. So will he support the lying that has been happening, or will he go against the Party Line and declare Grayling to be an out and out liar?

Feel free to copy the body of the e-mail and send it to your own MP. The more ConDem MPs embarrassed into either openly supporting lying or condemning their own minister the better.

Subject: Disabled fit to work campaign

    Dear Sir,

When I have contacted you before about the DWP/Atos WCA tests of the sick
and disabled you have quoted Chris Grayling stating that the Government’s
policy is only to weed out the cheats and the frauds, and that those
genuinely too ill to work had nothing to worry about, and would continue to
receive their benefits without being forced to look for work.

However in the Sunday Telegraph I read that:
“Chris Grayling, the employment minister, has been forced to tighten the
rules on the Government’s £5bn flagship jobs scheme to get more people off
benefits and back into work. The move comes after the Government’s initial
drive to make those on long-term sickness benefits get back into paid jobs –
after being deemed fit for work – failed to push enough claimants through
the new Work Programme, partly because the long-term jobless were classed as
    “sicker than expected”.

The man behind the Government’s back-to-work scheme told The Sunday
Telegraph he would redesign the scheme so that those deemed originally too
ill to join it would be made to do so.”

So the sick are “sicker than expected” (so very sick indeed) and yet “those
deemed originally too ill to join [the back to work scheme] would be made to
    do so.”

So Chris Grayling has stated that the genuinely ill will be protected and
not sent to work, but promptly announces that far from protecting them he is
going to make them work after all, even though they are sicker than
expected. Since these two statements are mutually exclusive, one of them
    must be a lie.

Which leads me to my questions:
    1) which of the two statements is a lie?
    2) is it right to have a liar as a minister?
    3) do you support the minister in lying to the public?
    4) do you think that it is right to force people who are “sicker than
    expected” to find work?
    5) do you think that it is right to force people who have been found “too
ill to join” the back-to-work scheme, to now join it?

Please note, I do NOT want the usual ministerial waffle about “helping those
who can work back into jobs, whilst protecting the genuinely ill”; what I
want is your personal answers to the five questions above, with a specific,
    numbered, answer to each question.

  9. Absolutely Never Trust a Politician Netherless it is Bloody Time that they
Listened and paid Attention to what Needs to be said and Done

No Compulsion upon those too ILL and Depressed to Work to be Un Paid
Eternal Slaves and Stop WASTING BILLIONS upon Nuclear Weapons
as well as upon the Privilege Bastion of the ” Royal ” Family

e-petition - Stop Unfair Re-assessments For Disabled People

Responsible department: Department for Work and Pensions

Stop the unfair and cruel re-assessments via ATOS for disabled people currently on Incapacity Benefit. ESA is a flawed benefit, and puts terrible pressure and stress on vulnerable people, putting people who cannot work on lesser benefits and applying sanctions. Let disabled people decide for themselves if they can work, they and their carers know best.
