Giles Anthony Fraser (born 27 November 1964) is a priest of the Church of England. He is currently the parish priest at St Mary’s, Newington, in the Elephant and Castle, London. He was previously Canon Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral from 2009 until his resignation in October 2011. As Canon Chancellor, Fraser fulfilled the role of a canon residentiary with special responsibility for contemporary ethics and engagement with the City of London as a financial centre. He was also the director of St Paul’s Institute(Wiki).

    On the bright side, the funeral reminded the older members of society of just how bad Toryism can be (some seem to have forgotten, despite what Cameron is doing at the moment), and, round me at least, led to younger members of society asking how one person could have generated so much hatred against herself. One young person, who has travelled all over Europe and mixed with people from all levels of society, asked “What good did she ever do to deserve a state funeral? All I’ve ever heard about her is that she did lots of damage to British industry.”

    The Government may have denied this was a state funeral, but the question above shows that people saw it as such. How can it NOT have been a state funeral when large numbers of all three services were present and being paid for by the state?

    The abomination that was thatcher is gone now. Her legacy will remain as long as the present tory scum and new labour scum reman in british politics. This means that nothing is going to change for the better for the majority of the population. All the hard earned gains over the last 50 years have been lost in a single stroke. only this week have elements of the Equalities Act been repealed by the tories – didn’t know? – I wonder why???

    The british media as the collective voice of the 1% has been magnificent. No public comments on any newspapers about thatcher – still no public comments at all on the telegraph. How can this happen in a democracy – it can’t – we are not a democracy. The queen goes to the funeral thereby highlighting her position on political matters in this country. She’s supposed to be independent??? This is not a democracy rather an authoritarian monarchy.- or fascist state. The State along with big business in cosy alliance against the people. THIS IS FASCISM.

    I agree with Humanity above – spineless british people and an agressive, arrogant and self serving state. I do not see any future for the people of this country. i am tired of it ….

    Best part of the tv. news was the pit village in Yorkshire having its own version of Thatchers cremation.
    It was only the Southerners who had anything decent to say about her,it’s rough up North,come North of Watford Gap and see why Thatcher’s is so hated.
