'For the Conservatives, particularly, the idea is that the provision of welfare – rather than the harsh medicine meted out to those who cannot compete in the marketplace – is what creates the freaks who refuse to get on in life. If only these politicians and their cheerleaders would realise that it's life that these people find hard, generally for reasons no one would choose, if they had such choices to make. Merrick didn't work because he couldn't make a decent living. That's the usual reason. And people who can't find a place for themselves in the world are just people for whom the world refuses to find a place' ~ Deborah Orr

The real freak in this affair is Ian Duncan Smith who is a relic from a bygone era. That era being 1930’s nazi germany. He like the nazis will pay the price of his evil deeds against humanity. His name will be top of the list when the guilty are brought to justice for their part in the ATOS related destjs and suicides. The fact that he is still deploying ATOS AFTER all the suicides and deaths is evidence of culpability. we should demand justice so thst the guilty freaks are tried and caged.

So IDS says child poverty os caused by parental drug usage. Well, let’s do the maths that he clearly can’t manage.

Working with the latest unemployment figures, taking 6.6% of that figure to get the number of unemployed drug users, and then dividing the kids in poverty between all of the unemployed drug users (ie assuming that these parents are all single parents or are in a marriage where the other parent isn’t on drugs) they have on average 10.6 kids each. If any of them are married to other drug users then that couple will have on average 21.2 kids.

OK, so IDS is talking complete bollocks again.

I watched that film years ago and thought at the time, we are much more enlightened today. Who would have thought back then, that there would come a time when the sick and disabled would be regarded as scroungers and people with problems would be paraded and exploited on TV for entertainment purposes.

Politicians make the rules and set the tone. When the nasty party speak, all those worms that agree with them, come crawling out the woodwork.

2 things are obvious to me. Unemployment and poverty have increased under the ConDem Govt. Does IDS explain why more people are poor as a result of his policies. If it is “welfare” that causes poverty why is there more poverty when the Govt reduces welfare. The answers are obvious to any thinking person. We need a new kind of politics where representatives of the people do not see politics as a career. None of the main political parties will create this so we need to create a new party to represent OUR interests.
